Step 1: Do you need to update?
This is a firmware update for all business inkjet 1100 printers with firmware version KMR1015A & below.
It is compatible with Windows 98, NT, 2K, XP & ME
It is released to address bugs in the previous firmware versions and includes:
Fix for the low ink warning in toolbox and other monitoring tools (e.g. HP WebJetadmin) triggered at 37.5% of remaining ink instead of 25%.
Fix for the blank page eject when printing in Draft or Fast Normal mode.
Fix for the false carriage jam (blinking Power and Resume LED)
Users wanting the above mentioned printer enhancements should update their firmware. For a detailed download instructions and defect fixes, please refer to the Upgrade Instructions file in the downloaded package.
To successfully update the firmware the instructions in the Upgrade Instructions.txt file MUST be followed.
To check the version of your firmware, use either one of these options:
Using the Toolbox
Click Start, select Programs> HP Business Inkjet 1100> HP Business Inkjet 1100 Toolbox.
On the Information tab, click Printer Hardware. The current firmware version appears in the Printer Information dialog box.
NOTE: The Toolbox must be installed and the network enabled for the above process to work.
Printing a Configuration Page
Switch on the printer. Wait for the display READY on the LCD control panel. Press the Menu button once to display INFORMATION MENU.
Press the item button twice to display PRINT CONFIGURATION.
Press the Select button to print the Configuration Page.
