Hewlett Packard (HP) DeskJet 840C Series Driver. This is the Windows 2000 driver for the Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 840C Printer. The exact page that had it was the following www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpdeskjet819045_swen.html#Microsoft%20Windows%202000 so you may go there, at the top of the page, in the Quick Jump To... menu, click Microsoft Windows 2000, and there will be only one driver and it is 1.04MB in size, so it should not take too long to download over a phone line connection.
